Part of being human is our capacity to transform the natural world around us, however, it is no secret that our planet, the place we call home is now in great danger.
Human pressure on nature has soared since the 1970s, the Earths population has doubled and consumption has increased by 45% per capita. We have created a system that maximises the flow of material from nature, to meet the rising human demands for resources like food, energy and timber. As a result, our planet is now suffering and we are experiencing the consequences first hand through climate change, soil erosion, poor air quality and undrinkable water.
We are conscious of the state our planet is currently in and as a wellness brand that draws on the Earths resources we want to help towards global sustainability. Our mission is simple, we believe that great health should not come at any cost to our planet, and are not willing to compromise on either product performance or sustainability. Our promise is to make sustainability and environmental protection a part of everything we do, every single day.
So, how are we bring you great health that won’t damage the planet?
Well, at Osena every product utilises high quality, efficacious ingredients. We strike balance when choosing the ingredients that go into our products; first and foremost they must deliver stellar health benefits but equally this must not come at a cost to our planet, particularly given we’re drawing on the Earth’s resources.
90% of OSENA packaging is made from glass. Glass is infinitely recyclable and derived from natural raw materials which are in abundance, such as sand. Unlike plastic, it does not lose integrity as it’s recycled, meaning it could be recycled into the same bottle or jar, over and over again. Our cardboard, tissue paper and tape are 100% recycled FSC and use soy ink. Our tissue paper and tape are also 100% compostable. We are continually working to find new innovations to become even more sustainable with our packaging.
It doesn’t stop here….future plans?
We are always looking for ways to become more eco-friendly and are currently looking into alternative packaging solutions that would help us do that. Keep your eyes out for announcements about our environmental efforts in 2021!
